AI for retail stores: answer customers while you're at the till

AI for retail stores: AI per Aziende, an Italian studio, builds custom tools for independent shops, from clothing to hardware and bookshops. An assistant answers WhatsApp and website questions about stock, sizes and hours from your product list; the AI drafts product copy and customer messages for you to approve. It starts with a free 30-minute call.

  • Free discovery call
  • A working demo before you sign
  • You approve every step

Where the day goes

  • 'Do you have it in navy, size 10?'

The message comes in while you're serving two people at the counter. You reply an hour later, and they've already ordered from a big online store. Shoppers who message a shop expect an answer in minutes, not at closing time.

  • Your online shop lags behind the shelves

New stock has been in store for a week but it isn't on your website or Instagram yet: no photos, no description, no measurements. Twenty product pages is an afternoon you never get.

  • Loyal customers miss your new arrivals

Some people have shopped with you for years and would buy the new range if they knew about it. Writing each of them a proper message, between restocks, just doesn't happen.

What the AI actually does

An assistant on WhatsApp and your website

It answers with the details you give it: hours, address, returns policy, items on sale from a list or spreadsheet you keep updated. When a question is about a specific piece and it isn't sure, it doesn't guess: it hands the chat to you with a summary.

Example
Sunday afternoon, shop closed: 'Do you still have the green puffer jacket in medium?'. The assistant checks the list you uploaded on Saturday, replies that it was showing in stock, offers to hold it and leaves the request for you on Monday morning.

Product pages written from a photo and a note

Give the AI a photo and a line, 'heavy cotton hoodie, relaxed fit, three colours', and it drafts the title, description and sizing in your shop's style, for the website and for social. You check and publish.

Example
The new-season delivery arrives: you photograph the pieces on the counter, dictate a few notes, and by the end of the day the product pages are ready to check rather than to write.

One-to-one messages to regulars

From your notes on who buys what, the AI drafts short, personal messages about arrivals they may care about, only for customers who agreed to hear from you. The AI drafts the text; you send it.

Example
The boots a customer asked about in October finally arrive. The AI suggests: 'Hi Laura, they're in, in your size. Shall we keep a pair for you until Saturday?'. You copy it and send it from the shop's phone.

Click-and-collect and appointments with reminders

Customers book a pickup or an appointment, such as a fitting or a consultation, from a booking page and get reminders beforehand. Fewer forgotten parcels behind the counter.

Example
A customer books a gift pickup for Friday at 6 pm and gets a reminder the day before. Anyone who can't make it lets you know, and you re-plan in time instead of leaving the parcel behind the counter for days.

Custom software for your kind of shop

The step that wastes most time differs from shop to shop: hardware quotes, wedding gift lists, special orders. We build it around the way you already work.

Example
A homeware shop keeps gift lists in a notebook: we build the page where guests see what's still needed and the owner gets the updated list.

How we get started

Three steps, and the first one is a no-strings conversation.

  1. 1

    Free intro call

Half an hour online, whenever the shop is quiet. Tell us where customer questions come from, what you sell online and what you don't, and where time slips away. If AI isn't right for you, we say so straight away.

  2. 2

A prototype built on your stock and rules

We build a first version with your product list, opening hours and rules on returns and holds. You test it by asking the questions your customers ask you.

  3. 3

Up and running at the counter

You use it on real trading days and we refine it together when a reply is off. When the season or range changes, you update it or tell us, and no message goes out without your yes.

Why AI per Aziende

Customers deal with your shop, not a bot farm

The AI drafts replies, product pages and messages, but anything sent to customers is approved by you. The tone stays the one you use at the counter.

From the counter to the code

Bots for WhatsApp and Telegram and management tools are what clients commission from us, and three industry-specific platforms of ours are already online. A gift list guests check on their phones, or a page for booking pickups, is the kind of job we take on.

Your customers and stock list stay yours

When you stop working with us, the code and instructions stay with the shop. Your customer list, the sizes people ask for and your product sheet serve only your assistant, with no training of other models on that data.

Frequently asked questions

How can a small retail store use AI?

Wherever time leaks away: answering customer messages, writing product pages for your website and social, remembering to tell people when the item they wanted is back. The AI prepares everything from your own information and you approve it before any customer sees it. You don't need a big store, just a clear repetitive job to hand over.

Does the assistant know what I have in stock?

It knows what you give it. We don't currently plug directly into existing point-of-sale or stock systems, so the assistant works from a product list or spreadsheet you keep updated, which you can export from your current software. If an item isn't on the list, or it isn't sure, it never says yes: it passes the question to you.

Can I use it on WhatsApp with my shop's number?

Yes, the assistant works on WhatsApp, your website and Telegram. On WhatsApp the link sometimes has to be reconnected by hand after updates, and we tell you that before we start. Phone calls are a no: we don't run a call-answering service today. Customers who prefer to message get an instant reply, even after closing.

Can AI write my product descriptions?

Yes. Give it a photo and a few notes and it drafts the title, description and sizing in your shop's voice, rather than the supplier's copy that every other site uses. You check the technical details, because sizes and materials must be right, and you publish. It's the job that most often falls behind when the shop is busy.

Can I send promotional messages to customers with AI?

The AI helps you write short, personal messages, but you send them only to customers who agreed to receive them, and you approve every one. There are no automatic mass blasts. A targeted note such as 'your size is back in' usually works better than one offer for everyone, and it respects the people who shop with you.

How much does AI cost for a retail shop?

It depends on how big your range is and what you want off the counter: answering size and hours questions is a smaller job than a gift-list or special-order system. On the free 30-minute call we look at your shop, then send a written price before anything starts, and you decide whether to go ahead.

How long does it take to get started?

All you need is a product list, even a spreadsheet exported from your till: after the call the prototype is usually ready within a few working days. You test it with real counter questions like 'got this in medium?' or 'open at lunchtime?'. Start before the sales or the holidays, when messages pile up.
